HomeQ & AQuestionsHas anyone had constant nasal... Question posted by marthalove on 10 Nov 2015 Last updated on 17 March 2023 by Juicy1978 Hello,I have been on Lexapro twice in my life and am so frustrated with the nasal congestion! Both times shortly after beginning the medication it starts out like a cold where I have a lot of mucous and am blowing my nose often, can't smell, taste, etc. Then it's like my nose dries up but my nose is still blocked. This has been all day long for months. I have literally tried every OTC med there is and nothing works. The odd time sudafed will work but not every time. It is so very frustrating as I can't taste my food. I decided due to all the side effects I was having I would taper down and get off Lex. I now have the blocked nose in the morning and night but have a bit of relief during the middle of the day. I am hoping and praying this goes away with time. If anyone has experienced this and has any suggestions, please let me know. Thank you! I know this is a old post but how long did it take for ur nasal congestion to go from lexapro I get this too , seemed to happen after taking Lexapro , did your symptoms go away after stopping Lexapro ? hayley-russell 3 Oct 2020 I’ve been taking this drug for a week and have this same issue, very clogged. I actually was searching for people who had insomnia or pounding heart feeling and came across this page and now think I don’t have a cold it’s the drug! Hoping this goes away. I know the insomnia and dry mouth and blocked nose are all listed as side affects and I am suffering from those - did anyone else have insomnia or dry mouth? I have two kids and need sleep! If you had the problems sleeping did it last long?? I have the complete opposite. if I don’t take full prescribed dose my nasal passages aren’t fully
